New Youth Group Meetings
The Youth Group (the FRIDGE) still meets
on Sundays (from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.), and it now
also exists during the week! Meetings will take
place on Tuesdays and Fridays, from 3:30 until 5:30 p.m. This
is an informal, relaxed time, to be used for whatever need
exists.
Potential uses of this time: eating, catching up with friends, planning youth services, homework, maths or music tutorage, band practices and mission - there is no strict schedule. Please contact Matt Dent on 027 428 9215 (477 0970) for further details. One Dollar a Day
One of the millennium
development goals set by the United Nations
was to halve the number of people living on
less than one dollar a day. To help raise awareness
of global poverty, and some of the things that cause
it, our Youth and Community Minister Jolyon White has
been living on one dollar a day (actually an amount adjusted
for exchange rates and purchasing power; it comes
out at about NZ$1.50) for a month. The attempt
has been filmed, with the result to be presented at a film festival.
